How To Transition Your Skincare Routine from Summer to Fall

Now that the warmer months are subsiding and giving way to the colder, dryer climate of fall and winter, it’s time to consider a change in your skincare routine. Things need to be done differently to correct any damage done by outdoor activities and prepare for the dryer climate.

With the colder months ahead, it’s critical to take the proper steps to avoid dehydrated skin. Wrinkles and lines come from dry skin, and you don’t want that. So, to begin, we suggest you use a mild cleanser that’s gentle, not harsh.

1. Gentle Cleanser

Because the weather is about to turn bitter and dry, it’s best to choose a lighter cleanser in the fall. A cleanser that doesn’t make your skin tight after washing. Although many over-the-counter brands make this claim, it’s best to use medical-grade products designed for your particular skin.

Dr. Kabiri offers multiple product lines of medical-grade products to help you in your fall skincare routine. They also work well with her non-surgical skin tightening and skin repair treatments.

2. Exfoliate

Exfoliating is just as vital in the winter months as during the summer! Dr. Kabiri recommends using a light exfoliant once or twice a week to keep your skin bright and radiant. It’s also ideal for getting rid of flaky skin – just don’t overdo it.  Your skin is more sensitive in the winter months because of the temperature change.

And don’t forget your lips. Exfoliate them as well to them looking great all winter long.

3. Toner

A hydrating toner loaded with natural vitamins, conditioners, antioxidants, and moisturizers will feed thirsty skin. It also removes residue while nourishing skin with essential nutrients to restore and refresh your face.

A good toner shrinks pores, helps balance the pH in your skin, and adds a layer of protection that is great for applying makeup. Also, opt for an alcohol-free toner that’s gentle on the skin and helps with hydration.

4. Intensive Anti-Aging Serum

To keep your skin smooth and soft during the fall and winter, apply an intense serum that features the highest concentration of anti-aging peptides. This will support collagen and elastin regeneration and address the signs of aging like firmness, elasticity, texture, and tone.
